WGI is a multidisciplinary consulting firm with thirteen offices nationwide specializing in engineering, surveying, geospatial mapping, planning, land development, environmental and parking consulting services.  In 2017, WGI ranked #252 on the ENR's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.  We are seeking a CAD Manager with proven professional experience to be part of our team in the West Palm Beach office.

The CAD Manager is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of AEC Industry Standard CAD Software and hardware. Software will primarily consist of CAD, but other software such as GIS, Engineering Analysis, Rendering/Visualization, Scheduling, Estimating, Document Management, etc. will also be supported by this position. This individual will lead technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the Architecture and Engineering Practices. They will also facilitate technology process assessments to prioritize and implement new efficient software versions, processes, workflows and automation to ensure maximum possible performance of the design and management teams, and ROI of our software investments.

Job Description:

• Install, configure, and maintain CAD software as it relates to our corporate environment
• Provide on-call technical support for all CAD users.
• Develop, disseminate, and enforce CAD standards in regards to layering, dimensioning, text annotations, and other aspects of CAD usage.
Formulate and conduct training sessions and teaching materials for propagating CAD knowledge throughout the organization.
• Leverage existing CAD technologies and conduct research on new and emerging products to expand work efficiencies.
• Coordinate CAD integration, upgrade, and development support with business systems and IT operations.
• Assist in the development of CAD expense and capital budgets.
• Actively monitor and track progress of design related activities for opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce design time.
• Analyze current CAD application usage and plan for growth or increases in software licensing and network capacity.
• Create and recommend strategies for document management as it relates to both CAD and non-CAD user outputs, including collection, revision, and archiving.
• Optimize and document corporate division's workflow as it relates to CAD usage.
• Troubleshooting CAD user issues and provide productions CAD support.
• Testing new releases of CAD software
• Configuration and customization of standard CAD profiles
• Managing and maintaining standard CTB and STB files
• Managing and maintaining corporate and consultant template files.
• Identifying more efficient methods of performing daily tasks
• Act as a liaison between production staff and IT
• Develop, implement and enforce CAD Standards
• Develop, implement and enforce project folder structure usage
• Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
• Generate written technology evaluations for future software adoption
• Maintain CAD Software inventory and document CAD environment
• Archive completed projects

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, computer science and/or specific related work experience.
• Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of CAD software solutions in an Architecture, Engineering and Program and Construction Management environment with 30 or more CAD users.
• Highly experienced with Autodesk Infrastructure and Building Design Suites,
excellent project management and leadership skills; capable of implementing organizational change.
• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Familiarity with document control systems used in the AEC industry, Bentley ProjectWise, Newforma Project Center, and ESRI ArcGIS a strong plus.
• Troubleshooting CAD user issues and provide productions CAD support.
