Professional Surveyor and Mapper

WGI is a multidisciplinary consulting firm with thirteen offices nationwide specializing in engineering, surveying, geospatial mapping, planning, land development, environmental and parking consulting services.  In 2017, WGI ranked #252 on the ENR's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.  We are seeking a Professional Surveyor and Mapper to join our growing West Palm Beach team.

In this position you will assist the Survey Project Manager in the execution of various public sector survey assignments. You will direct a team of technicians and field crews to complete large-scale public works improvement projects, while coordinating survey responsibilities with other discipline leads at WGI. A strong FDOT production background is required, with experience working with FDOT District 7 and 1 highly preferred. 

Over the last two decades, WGI has delivered a variety of transportation projects including some of the largest and most complex interstate projects in the state of Florida.  As a firm we continue to grow and look forward to the opportunity to add dedicated professionals.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Coordination with crews and technicians to establish project responsibilities and priorities
  • Coordination with the Survey Project Manager and other discipline leads on scheduling objectives and project milestones
  • Assignment of daily responsibilities for survey field crews and office technicians
  • Perform boundary analysis for large-scale corridor, route, and sectionalized land surveys
  • Sign and seal surveys, maps, and survey related documents
  • Perform in-process quality control of survey field activities, calculations, and preliminary project deliverables

Job Qualifications Requirement:

  • Licensure as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in the State of Florida or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months preferred
  • One to five years of post-registration experience with four to eight years progressive survey experience
  • Four-year degree in Geomatics or related field highly preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with Microstation, Geopak, and AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Experience with Lieca terrestrial and / or mobile LiDAR platforms and software highly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large-scale public sector survey projects
